Q. Do you offer Laser Dentistry?
A. Dr. Jen has been performing frenectomies to help “tongue-tied” infants and children since 2005. She now uses the laser exclusively “tongue-tie” and “upper lip-tie” revisions. The benefits of the laser include: reduced risk of bleeding and inflammation both during and after laser surgery, faster healing time and less post op discomfort.
Q. When should I take my child to the dentist for the first check-up?
A. In order to prevent dental problems, your child should see a pediatric dentist when the first tooth appears, or no later than his/her first birthday.
Innumerable studies and research have concluded on the importance of starting children early in their lives with good dental hygiene and oral care. According to research, the most common chronic childhood disease in America is tooth decay, affecting 50 percent of first-graders and 80 percent of 17-year-olds. Early treatment prevents problems affecting a child’s health, well-being, self-image and overall achievement.
Q. What is the difference between a pediatric dentist and a family dentist?
A. Pediatric dentists are the pediatricians of dentistry. A pediatric dentist has two to three years specialty training following dental school and limits his/her practice to treating children only. Pediatric dentists are primary and specialty oral care providers for infants and children through adolescence, including those with special health needs.
Q. What if I have an emergency?
A. Please call our office at 515-967-9790 as soon as you determine that you have a dental emergency. We will be glad to work you in to our schedule if you have a dental emergency during regular business hours. After hours, over the weekend and during holidays, please call our office for the doctor’s emergency contact number.

Q. Are payment plans available for my dental treatment?
A. We request payment in full at the time the service is rendered unless other arrangements have been made. For your convenience we accept cash, personal checks, credit cards and debit cards. For balances over $500, Bank Iowa can finance a 12, 18 or 24 month loan.
